Spindle RPM to be read from NC

CNC 802D with 611U drive for 2 axis. Spindle has 2 gear selection ranges. LOWER RANGE 14 to 28 RPM & HIGHER RANGE 29-56 RPM. I would like to provide interlock of spindle RPM with gear selection range. Can any one guide me how to read spindle comand value or actual spindle RPM from NC. On spindle shaft external encoder is fitted which gives feedback of spindle RPM. Regards, DEEP

My spindle has Siemens make 1SE 0 series 55 Kw rating AC induction motor.It is fed by Yaskawa make CIMR - F7A4055 model VFD drive which is configured in simple V/F mode. Spindle has 2 gear stages. In lower gear stage spindle RPM available is 5 to 28 RPM & in higher stage,range is29-56 RPM. In progrma whenevr operator comands spindleRPM between 5-28, system should identify the gear stage accordingly i.e. suppose if the gear stage is higher then it should hold the spindle & axis feed & alarm should be displayed as change gear stage & whenever the gear stage is higher, & spindle comand RPM is lower, it should hold spindle & feed axis & alarm should be displayed as change gear stage.Spindle gear changing arrangement is manualy. Hope I will receive the help. Thanks in advance. DEEP.

Logic can be returned in such a way that comparing the low vaule and the higher value I am giving an example you can try..... >Read the actual value of X axis and the comparison vaule.... >Set V26000001.1= 1 to request the axis actual values >VD57000000(egx=0for X axis) contains the current actual value. >This is read in the PLC program together with value entered in the PLC-MD14514[0]from theNCK to PLC 4500 2000 interface. > 145..... series parameters are availablein General MD Read Sinumerik 802D function description, section 20.9.3 and20.12 for futher informations. The given message would vanish at manual acknowledgement. The established set can be remembered in VB14000000.... Probably it will help you. see attachment Best regards. Maddy. Posts: 20 Rating: (1)	Best solution can be , use of automatic Gear Selectionaccording to the RPM commanded . This way you can get a signal in PLC to change gear if the RPM is programmed is within the defined range

OvidiuNastac Silver Member Joined: 1/29/2008 Last visit: 7/26/2022 Posts: 419 Rating: (19)	Hi You can use automatic gear change but in the PLC instead of making necessary movement you can set an alarm and set the Read in Disable (or NC Stop) signal which will be reset (together with the alarm) by an acknowledgment external signal (i.e. a push button). Thank you very much to all of you for your keen interest & efforts all you put to help me. We could solve this problem by enabling spindlegear selection range, defining low & high gear RPM ranges & in PLC setting bits for identifications of LOW & HIGH gear selection.
