Hello MGP Siemens PA SpliTConnectors simply create a T-Junction in the PA cable and do NOT provide any short cuircuit or other protection of the PA bus. If you intend to take a PA instrument of the bus you need to ensure that you are very careful to for example not create a short circuit of the instrument stub line as it will otherwise bring down the whole PA segment (usage of PA M12connectors can help to overcome this). Personally, I prefer to use dedicated (watertight) PA junction boxes for the purpose of Instrument connections(with or without inbuiltshort circuit and/or overload/surge protection depending on the application/customer requirements) and you'll find that Pepperl &Fuchs andWeidmueller havequite a range of these. Having said that, Siemens has Active Field Splitters and Active Field Distributors in their product portfolio which allow PA ring based redundancy (if money is not the issue) and you can find out more about them at the links below: How do you configure a ring redundancy with FDC 157-0 DP/PA couplers and active field distributors (AFDs)? Bus links DP/PA coupler, DP/PA link and Y link manual (see chapter 3.1.3, note too appendix B for PA design guidelines) I hope this helps |
