Stall Torque and Current Value

kelese Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I'm searching actual torque and actual current value for our servo transfer axis. Because of that, I measured these actual torque and current values as graph via "Sinamics Device Trace" function. On the graph, I can see: When servo axis is under load and working, actual torque and current values exceed the stall values in every cycle. My servo motor characteristics: stall torque value: 36Nm rated torque value: 14Nm stall current value: 26Arms rated current value: 11,5Arms Is it problem for my servo axis? How can I take reference for permissible limits? What is the permissible limits? Best Regards

It is very common in a servo motor application which is operating in a varying speed vs. torque duty cycle for the torques to exceed the stall torque values and rated torque vaules for a short period of time. Attached is an example of a typical torque vs. speed curve for a servo motor. The stall torque(sometimes called static torque) is M₀(100K) which means that the motor can supply this amount of torque continuously at zero speed. The rated torque is M_n(100K) which means that the motor can supply this amount of torque continuously at the motor rated speed. The overall red curve which is labeled 100K basically means that any speed along that curve the motor can supply that amount of torque continuously and the motor will have 100 degrees Kelvin temperature rise across its windings. Any torque value above this curve (up to M_max)is the intermittent operating area where a motor can supply that amount of torque vs. speed for a short time period (i.e. during acceleration, deceleration, etc.). Bear in mind that to achieve any of the torque values the servo drive must be able to supply the necessary current according to the duty cycle. Deleted User Posts: 767 Rating: (69)	Hello kelese, Yes,lower than Mmax value, upper than Mstall, it can run in intermittent way. Attached is torque vs. speed curve for the motor. 1FK7103-5AF71-1FH0. On these curves a reference is made to S3 curves, which are for intermittent duty. For instance, S3-25% means that the motor has capability to support torque vs. speed along this curve 25% of time for a duty cycle of 10 minutes where the starting current has little effect on temperature rise. During remainder 75% of time for duty cycle of 10 minutesthe motor is not producing any torque or speed; therefore, the motor cools during this time period.
