Standard Drive Control and Dynamic Drive Control on VSD G120C

Have a few questions about the Application Class  "Standard Drive Control" and "Dynamic Drive Control" on VSD G120C.

1) If I selected the application class to be "Standard Drive Control",  is this considered as "V/F Control Mode"?   Or it is considered as "Vector Control" ?

2) I have a small motor (1.5kW), which use for liquid screw pump, can I change from "Standard Drive Control" to "Dynamic Drive Control" ?    (Sometimes, the VSG is tripped by F07900 Motor Blocked.  So I would try to change from Standard Drive Control to be Dynamic Drive Control.)

Standard Drive Control

This provides a basic configuration, using a Voltage / Frequency ratio, or relationship; referred to as V/F control. This is a good start for a motor configuration, is less sensitive to errors in motor measurement; that is the motor impedance, leakage, and characteristics which could cause problems from an initial commissioning.

If you have snags with a certain control this is the one to revert to for fault diagnosis.

Dynamic Drive Control 

This requires some precise detail from the motor nameplate, which should be available or visible on the motor, also the drive will, during the motor tuning measure the motor characteristics statically, and if permitted during acceleration. The result will be a Vector control, or Sensorless Vector control, which in operation will eliminate the motor slip, providing a precise speed control, without using an encoder.

The processor in Vector Control, is running at a high speed or 'time slice', and is able to detect accurately motor currents created by unstable mechanical loads.

To change between these control methodologies, you must re commission the motor details.

Question:

This sounds like a 'sludge pump', what are you pumping?

2) So that means I have to recommissioning the VSD and change the mode to Dynamic Drive Control.

Correct, to operate in ‘Dynamic Control’ the drive needs to re-calibrate.
