Starting STEP 7 with preset program, block and line.

Is it possible to continue further? To start the Step 7 with certain program, with certain block opened, on a certain line / network?

Elonen Bronze Member Joined: 4/11/2012 Last visit: 8/1/2022 Posts: 176 Rating: (32)	A follow-up question to this: On the Step 7 online help, article "Starting Step 7 with default start parameters" this is said: /o <logical path of the object, on which you want to position> The complete logical path has the following structure: [View ID,online ID]:project name\{object name\}*\ object name /o "1,8:MyConfig\SIMATIC 400(1)\CPU416-1\S7-Program(1)\Blocks\FB1" My question: What is this "View ID" or "online ID"? On the example it's 1,8, and when I created the shortcut on my computer, it's 1,8 there also. Is it always 1,8? Another question: /h <ObjectID> Example: /h T00112001;129;T00116001;1;T00116101;16e /keep What is the ObjectID? It's length depends on what object I have chosen, when I'm creating the shortcut. But what do the numbers mean?

After some testing, it seems that [View ID,online ID] are useless, they can be ignored. Same for /h <ObjectID>, this can also be ignored. The parameter /keep is not working as intented. If /keep is selected, and the program is already open in Simatic Manager, the correct block will not be selected. Also, if the program is already open in Simatic Manager, but another program is active, the correct program and block will not be selected. The /onl is also not working, the correct block is not selected if /onl is used. However, this is minor problem, as it's easier to open the correct program offline and go online after the block is opened. Of course, it's possible that the /keep and /onl are not working because I'm not using the View ID, Online ID or ObjectID
