step5 communication with usb port in laptops

Use Siemens S5-USB promer. 3. Use standard RS232-USB converter and connect to it the Siemens S5 cable. 4. There's non Siemens product to connect the S5 PLCs directlly to USB port. But note that this way is not supported from Siemens and it's not tested too as it's not Siemens product. And I recommend you to migrate to S7. Regards,

Mike Wigg Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Yes, you can still purchase a brand new laptop or notebook computer with serial port. AllToshiba Tecra A11 and Tecra S11 models come with a built in serial port. Same with Panasonic Toughbooks.
