STEP5 S5-95U Communication problem

culdaraul Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hy everybody. I'm from Romania, sorry for my bad english, and I am totally new in Step5 things :). I have a SIMATIC S5-95U Unit ( 6ES5 095-8MC01 ). I've tried to connect on COM1 serial port via RS232-TTY converter (schematic attached below) using Step5 v7.23 software. In settings window (project -> set), I have following things: Interface : AS511 ParameterL COM1: Standard Path name: [ ] Path file: [NONAMEAP.INI] Path option: No When I try to go online, it says: "AS interface in PG not ready" (Rx and Tx not blinking). If I select path name to "AS511-MUX-ENDP", it says: "Link not established" (Rx and Tx led's not blinking). P.S. I'm using Windows XP SP3. (tried on Windows 98 SE, MS-DOS, same thing... COM 1 port is set to Default. I would appreciate if anyone could help me verry quickly :). Thanks. Attachment COM_TTY0.gif (921 Downloads)

culdaraul Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I did not use this converter before, but with my settings, if I try to go online, It says : "AS Interface in PC not ready"... without the converter connected, it says "PLC Timeout". Also Rx and Tx led are blinking, so,I think there is communication betwen PLC and PC. I also tried on COM3 / COM4 and it says: "System message no.:0334". I think that the Interface path is wrong.. ( what is nonameap.ini ? ). And related to PG2000, what settings should I use ? Everything I try, the program hangs. If the converter circuit is wrong, please guide me to another circuit that I can make it at home. I'm student and I don't have money to buy a cable :(. Thanks a lot :).

The help that members here have been giving you relates to Step 5, and there might be differences in the way a 3rd-party sets the communications parameters for their software.
