Hi Sky Diver840, the cable you are using to connect pcin won't work in connection to the plc 'cause pcin uses rs232 interface whilst the plc demands a current loop 20 mA interface. This current loop interface is not provided by a pc or laptop but only by a pg. Using a pg 7xx (or field pg or power pg) you ought to have a cable 6ES5734-2xxxx to connect to a S5 plc. As I recall the Sinumerik 810 is connected to a plc S5-150 hence you 'll need an adapter described in this link: https://support.industry.siemens.com/tf/de/en/posts/54093 If you are working on a pc the pc-plc-adapter cable of Siemens won't work because it needs a 5V supply provided by the plc in the pg interface. I'm sorry but the pg interface in the S5-150 doesn't provide this 5V supply. To solve this topic I recommend to use this usb - S5-adapter provided by cd-elektonik: http://www.cdelektronic.de/products/S5_PG-USB/s5_pg-usb.html You 'll need these items to connect to a plc 150: Good luck |
