d_mahon Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Does the Step7 Command Interface work with VB .Net 2003? The examples on the Step7 CD say VB6, and they work with Excel VB I want to build a standalone app in VB .Net but I can't get the type libraries recognised Can anyone help? Thanks David

I have already developed some applications for the STEP 7 Command Interface with Visual Studio 2003 and 2005 (both C# and Visual Basic .NET) and they work without any problems In order to use the STEP 7 Command Interface you have to add the following references to you project (both COM objects): Simatic 1.0 Type Library s7hcom_x 1.0 Type Library

[:cry:]I got errors when I tried instructions such as: DimS as New Simatic Dim Proj as S7Project Dim Sta as S7Station [:o]It worked when I used the following syntax Dim S as New SimaticLib.Simatic DimProj asSimaticLib.S7Project Dim Sta as S7HCOM_XLib.IS7Station2 Thanks forthe help.

If you tell the compiler, that the "Simatic" object can be found in the "SimaticLib" namespace ("SimaticLib.Simatic") everything is OK. If don't want to tell the compiler where to find the Simatic objects every time you create an object, you can import the namesspaces into you source file. To do so include: [code]Imports SimaticLib Imports S7HCOM_XLib 'Now you can use: DimS as New Simatic[/code] at the top of your source file.
