Step7 Pointers and Analog Inputs Out of "process image" range

andrej5 Regular Member Joined: 2/24/2009 Last visit: 9/23/2019 Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	Can I use this declaration: P#I 256.0 BYTE 16 for SFC15 input RECORD (which is ANY type) for Analog Inputs which are out of "process image" range (which is 128bytes for my 313C-2DP)? I was thinking of using P#PI 256.0 BYTE 16 declaration, but it is not possible to use it. It may be because of pointers can "point" to memory only and cannot point directly to card (PI)? I want to simply transport them into DP/DP coupler (all eight channels in one step. It has all outputs in "process image"). Is there any other way, how to do it "consistently" and quickly? I'm beginner. Thank You Very Much

If my understanding is correct, then the logic below will (should) do this for you (the example assumes thatthe DP/DP coupler's "AQ" modulestarts at address 96): [code]L PIW 256 // Copy AI's to DB T DB10.DBW0 L PIW 258 T DB10.DBW2 L PIW 260 T DB10.DBW4 . . . L PIW 270 T DB10.DBW14 // Note: The above could alternativelybe done with SFC14 CALL SFC 15 LADDR :=W#16#60//= 96 dec. Start address of8 "AQ" on DP/DP coupler RECORD :=P#DB10.DBX 0.0 BYTE 16// "Source data" (Copy of 8 "AI's"in DB) RET_VAL:=#_RET_VAL[/code] Having said that, if you can live with "consistency" on a Word by Word basis (i.e. consistent per individual AI), a simpler way would be this: [code]L PIW 256// Copy AI's to AQ's on DP/DP coupler T QW 96 L PIW 258 T QW 98 . .
