storage program of PLC

(S7-300 and S7-400). but sometime i replace PLC S7-300, i just insert MMC to new PLC. and can i do it with S7-400 (with Flash Eprom). thanks for your answer,

For S7-400, 2 types of memory cards (FLASH/RAM) are available.For temporary commissioning period, it is recommended to use RAM cards while for long-term retention of user program Flash card can be used.Read the following FAQ for more help regarding manipulation of Flash memory cards for S7 400. How can you write the program to the FLASH Memory Card when using a SIMATIC S7-400 CPU? As shown here, while downloading program is transferred to internal RAM memory of CPU.Transfer of data to external flash card is possible via PG or by using "save to memory card" from STEP 7. Gerdoo Posts: 23 Rating: (2)	When you download a project or part of it, it is stored in MMC. When you cycle the power, during startup CPU compares the content of MMC with CPU's RAMand if it differs(for example if you have done a MRES which clears the CPU RAM) it copies the content of MMC to CPU RAM and then proceed to run the code from that point. That's why when you insert the MMC in a new out-of-the-box CPU, it runs properly (if it is the same type).

hieutran8969 Bronze Member Joined: 11/17/2011 Last visit: 6/17/2024 Posts: 123 Rating: (1)	Dear Gerdoo, thanks for your answer. i understood that issue. so related to MMC, when i try to reset MMC from CPU (MRES button), i can't do that. i see on forum how way to reset MMC S7-300, they show me hold Switch at MRES on 9 second and after that, release it and hold 3 second again at MRES. i can not reset MMC, i think this way just reset Ram of PLC. and what way to reset MMC from PLC? thanks for your reset,

You can be sure that your MMC is emtpy if you use an internal or external prommer (first one in the Field PG second one available as USB device) Regards
