Strange error to measure temp

aliuta2000 Bronze Member Joined: 1/26/2007 Last visit: 8/27/2024 Posts: 123 Rating: (4)	Hello again , now i have another strange issue with temperature measurement. on the screen and in the program i have something like a wire broke(instead of real value i have the max measurement .) , but the wire is ok . in the next few second it will come back . Instead of going to 450 C it do not want to go over 350 C cause there apear the error and it stop the heating . do you have some ideea about ??? i have tried to replace the cable with profibus cable ... and the same error . i have tried to replace the modules .... the same error . exist some possible issue in the module ?? or a compensation to cable ??

And also tell us if you connect RTD directlly to the module or you are using a converter. What about the distance between temperature transmitter and the analog module. Please tell us if there is a power cables in the same cable trays with the analog signal cables? If so, try to lay the analog signal cables separitlly away from power cables. Check that the shield of the analog signal cables is connected to the clean earth of the system. Hope this helps.

hdhosseini Diamond Expert Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 9/9/2024 Posts: 6849 Rating: (1365)	Hi If you are using a (smart) transmitter, check the signal out of transmitter to AI module (for example 4-20mA) in the case of the mentioned error.If You are using RTD compatiple analog input check the resistance to be sure of measuring element! aliuta2000 Bronze Member Joined: 1/26/2007 Last visit: 8/27/2024 Posts: 123 Rating: (4)	The module is an SM 331 , but the error was not from module ...i think the error was from the termocouple (is a heating resistor with TC type K ). here everithing was solved when i put the negative termnal to ground . no more breake from then , and everithing is running correct (even if in electrical design is no conection between negativ terminal and ground). Thanks a lot .
