  I have to use a barcode scanner, model Siemens MV320, connected to my HMI Siemens IPC477.

When i scan the 2D code, i have to read a group of strings, every item is divided by Line Feed and Carriage Return (LfCr): if i test it using Word or Notes or any other simple word processor, i see the right result, that is my values, once per line:

AA-BB CC

9876

5432

But i have to use it on my HMI, builded in WinCC Tia 13, Runtime Advanced, so i thought to acquire my scanned result on a IO field, associated to an internal Tag; it doesn't work at all !

seems that IO field don't recognize LfCr and it shows all the values on 1 single line of text, and each value is not divided to the next one:

12345678AA-BB CC98765432

Any help? as far as i know i can't use any external OCX...

90% of the times user requests leads to nowhere, i know.

For now, i convinced my customer to change the format of the barcode, and add a semicolon between the values. In this ways i have in result a variable of type String, that i can handle through a VBscript to separate each value.

I did a project in the past with the code reader MV320 and a comfort panel.

You should put your post in the "SIMATIC Ident" section.

First thing to know, the first IO field you put in a screen is the one that will be highlight when the page is open.

So if you open a screen and do not select any IO field with your finger, scan a bar code, the result will be in the first IO field you dropped in TIA.

There are bar code in the manual of the MV320 to configure the reader. (type of keyboard, add a carriage return etc...)

If you configure it correctly, you should be able to plug the MV320 in your computer and the result of the scan can be display in a cell of Excel (like a usb keyboard).

You can generate code via website, you just have to google the type of code you use with "generator".

You will have to scan a specific barcode in the manual to be able to scan a barcode in your PC monitor.

I only had to use a IO field with string[60].

I already did all the things you suggested:

- i have the focus on the IO field where i want my code

- i configured the scanner MV320 with the correct code (i had to search on the online support, because with the MV320 scanner there was only a small flyer, with no instructions at all...)

- i know how to create a barcode

- as i already told, i can see the correct result of the scan in any word processor an in Excel too

You have something not configure properly with your configuration bar code.
