Struck in S71200 SCL programming

pavans Posts: 81 Rating: (0)	Hello I am new to SCL language Programming, So I am trying to learn how to trigger outputs with my programming. For this I connected a relay to one of the relay outputs and declared a tag & address in default tag table , then in program blocks I created a function block and I entered "tag" :=1; but my output isn't being triggered, Please help me

From the description you have given - you seem to be on the right track. Please do make 100% sure that the FC is called within OB1, the physical connection of your relay is correct and the output is not called elsewhere in your program. Maybe do a little LAD program just to make sure that the output is actually working as you expect it to. Then try again calling your SCL code block. You are welcome to try this code.. Thank you for your feedback regarding the previous issue.

Just summarize the difference and importance of blocks you have mentioned:

OBs are inetrfaces of CPU's operating system with the user program.There are some famous OBs that are common among S7 controllers like start-up,Cycle,cyclic interrupts, error, hardware interrupts,... OBs.Based on the type of CPU , there are variations.Mainly OB1 is used to cyclically execute less time critical logics, Start-up OB to determine behavior of CPU in case of mode transition or power-on mode.User program can be called in each of these OB due to application.
FBs and FCs are used for re-usable (or not) instructions.FB has memory(IDBs) to keep the processing data while FCs don't have allocated memories for each task.Read more here to see differences.
DBs are databanks, IDBs that store the data related to an DB and global DBs that act like a storage for constants of machine or buffer for communication tasks.

My paid for job is the highest priority and you might find me not getting back to you soon enough. ..and I do not work for Siemens. The best would be for you to publish some coding here in the Forum. A sample should be enough. Then the whole community are able to make contributions. Also include a bit more detail on where the code comes from that you are using. Remember that there are some changes between PLC brands and PLC families. Example.. S7-300 SCL does not work as-is in the S7-1200. Knowing the origin will help us to help you. Best regards. William
