Hello.

I am trying to set up my PLC as a modbus client, getting data from an inverter.

I am trying to use the MB_client FB, but having issues finding the connection params, more specifically the "InterfaceID" which supposedly should be the hardware identifier of the profinet interface. The datasheets i've found says, that i can find this by going to Device configuration -> "Click the profinet interface" -> Properties -> General -> Hardware identifier. I've tried this, but the option "Hardware identifier" is nowhere to be found on my CPU... I'm not sure if this will help me establish a connection tho. I get the status message "7004" (Connection established, waiting for job) and "7006" (Recieving data), after some time, the "Error" bool becomes true for a scan, and the status goes back to "7004".... The Modbus server works flawlessly when accessed from a computer through Modbus Poll, and the IP's are double and tripple checked to be correct... Any suggestions?

Hello again... 

I've now done what you said, and capturing the error gives me error "80C8" which meens no response from server. This was more or less what was expected, but seeing as i can ping the server, aswell as access it through direct IP and use modbus poll to get data from it at the given address, i don't know what can be wrong here. 

I've double and tripple checked the IP, and i've tried the exact same network but with a PAC3200, which works flawlessly.

The data i want in is from an inverter: Fronius 6.0-3
I'm using MB_MODE = 0
Starting address: 40001

I already zipped the project with intention to attach it, unfortunatly it was too large to fit on this forum. 
With that said, i've just solved the problem myself:

I didn't notice the need to change the MB_UnitID at first, which was the issue here. Appearently, i had to change the UnitID in the FB's DB - this solved the issue, and communication is now live!
