Stupid error using VBS

mara Posts: 62 Rating: (2)	Hi, all! I get stupid error with my VBS script. I made one button and edited VB action on that button. This is the start of that action: [code] Inserted by Moderator: In text editor it is not possible to insert a special function. That is why I inserted this function as comment (see comment below of the text). Dim something As String ... End Sub [/code] When I press syntax check (F7) I get error: "Expected end of statement(6): Dim something As String" Where is my error? I saw a lot of examples that defining string variable in used way. Thank you!

Nemo Posts: 3149 Rating: (171)	Hi if you just write Dim test your compiler will give no error code. Variables of a Variant-datatype include the datatype "String" =>just check the WinCC online help for "dim" nemo

VBS (Visual Basic Scripting) which is uses by WinCC (except for in the graphics editor which has VBAI think) doesn't have datatypes. So declaring of variables can't have a datatype specification. Use for example Dim myTestVariable instead of Dim myTestVariable As Long

What is problem?

Ates Posts: 198 Rating: (17)	I just tried to put your code in a button, if you try to put it in a graphic object then x is already used by main function... can you change the variable name x to something else ? generally x used by functions it selfs.. make it p ... so I assume that x is string so its working.. if not copy here the all code let us see it
