cosmetric Posts: 88 Rating: (0)	Hi every one.. I need some information about subnet ID. I am creating a new pcs7 multiproject with pcs7 v70 sp1. How can I define subnet ID for CPU. I have 3 cpu 417-4.. thank you for all.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello cosmetric, well this eases the issue in some way. The Subnet ID is actually only interesting if you plan to do S7-Routing functions for PG or other configuration tools. They need, if you change networks, destination information’s and routing tables. The Subnet ID is an indicator for the network to be used, this is actually it. So if you do not plan to do PG Routing you will not have to care about it. In a Multi-Project it might be useful to modify the Networks that way, especially if they are physically but not logically connected, that you do not interfere the Network addresses. One example where you need to modify the subnet ID’s is when you are trying to merge networks. When you create projects in a multi-project, all the projects have default (identical) subnet ID’s. If you try to merge the networks of these projects (in Netpro), you’ll get errors. In this situation it is necessary to modify the subnet ID’s.
