Supfina Machine with 3SB4003-1AD60-1

rlmts Posts: 41 Rating: (0)	Hi, We are working on a machine (Supfina) with a remote I/O operator interface installed. (3SB4003-1AD60-1) This has 3 input bytes and 3 output bytes available. (Addressed as I126.0+ and Q126.0+ on the DP link) The outputs (to lamps) are being controlled ok, but the inputs from the various PBs and switches do not change state. The first 7 bits of each input byte (#.0 to #.6) are shown as permanently ON, and input #.7 of each input byte shows permanently OFF. I have been unable to find much information on that part number, I think it may be a special for the manufacturer Supfina? The unit was sent to a local 'electronics repair' company, who could not find anything wrong with it (but also said thet did not have the facility to test it!) Do you know anyone in the UK who can test/repair these units? Is there a replacement unit that can be fitted in it's place? If so, what are the steps to integrate it? As usual, this is very urgent (and the problem seems not to be a quick fix?!) so any help would be very much appreciated. Regards Richard.

If you can access its hardware configuration, you should be able to see that module as a slave on the DP bus; you should also be able to locate and open the GSD file that was required to set it up on the network. It will contain manufacturer and model numbers (part of the standard for gsd files) along with Profibus slave info. The gsd file is a text file that can be opened with any standard word processor, Notepad, Wordpard, Word... This could give us at least a starting point to look for more documentation. I have found the GSD file (see attachment) and have since learnt via Supfina in Germany, that the unit was made specially for them by Siemens (Well, sub-contracted by Siemens to be built by someone else) Although obsolete, they appear to have found the intelligent part of that device and are shipping it over ASAP. In the meantime, we have wired each discrete input point from this remote control panel to spare I/O in the main PLC panel via a multicore cable, and have remapped these new inputs in the program. The machine is now working (6pm tonight) but I had some problems with the CPU 318-2, regarding downloading modified blocks andthe memory card fitted to the processor and"not enough memory" issues, even after compressing. (Mainly my lack of knowledge I'm sure!) I'd like toput up a seperate post for that, where I will hope to learn something from you guys! ATB for now, Rich Attachment MMII0484.GSD.pdf (282 Downloads)
