This problem will be solved somewhen next year when the next hardware version of the used SoC will be released. They have a bug in the current version, that it gets that hot. Best regards!

But it's also not uncommon to have high surface temperatures on passively cooled devices. I have a Ultra96v2 here that I better not touch after leaving it on for a while...

They do complain about the temperature issue a lot and they are wondering about the 2050 reliability with these high tempsratures. I see then posts that some fix is in the works. Is there an ETA for this? Anything official that I can send to my customer?

Hello I have the same problem with IOT2050's heat. I wonder if this condition applies to Tibet in China? (Tibet is 4,500 meters above sea level and the air is thin.) Best wishes!

Above that altitude the possible environment temperature descreases, unfortunately there is no document with values for the IOT2050. There is such a table for the S7-1200, I am not sure if the values can be seen as valid for the IOT2050, but at least it is a reference point. Best regards! Attachment altitudes.png (226 Downloads)
