Ok, then most of the job is done already and most of the information I wanted to give you are not relevant anymore... As I just recognized the "Russian Localization for PCS7" is also available now for PCS7 V8.0 SP1. A couple of weeks ago I wanted to use it but It was only available for V8.0 Upd.1. But you don't want to use it, so it is irrelevant. But a good thing to know is that from V8.0 SP1 WinCC is now unicode capable. So there is no need for the windows setting "Language for non-unicode-programs" at least for the OS-computers anymore. See here... For the Engineering Station it is still required. I see now that you have solved the task regarding the language switching already and I'm writing this mainly for other users wich may find this thread when they are looking for a solution for same task. The picture @language.pdl is in asia and european version the same, but depending on the installed version (it is looking to theregestry of windows) either the european or asian languages are shown. The english languages is shown in both cases. The questionmarks are always shown if you switch the graphics designer to a new language because there is simply no entry for the static text in that new language. The user has to bring a word for that new language. Be aware that if you do it the way TerminalBuzz was showing (by changing the scripts in the installation path) you have to do it on each OS and you (or the customer) have to do it again after each update of the PCS7 installation. In my way I copied the standard-scripts to project functions and modified those. So all the changes are within the project and downloaded with the project to the target pc. If you are still interested, let me know. Regards... |

Here it is now... They changed the way the @language.pdl is working from V8.0 SP1... Unfortunately it is actually a small change om each OS-computer needed. It is adding a reg-key. In my opinion it schould also be possible to use the @language.pdl and adapted scripts from an earlier version. In that case no changes to the PCs are needed. Regards, mark |
