Symbolic IO Field will not display text list entries until they are selected

I have a project in TIA V16 using a TP1900 Comfort Pro panel. On one of my screens, I have a Symbolic IO Field that gets its contents from a text list. When the dropdown is activated the text list entries do not display until the index for that entry is selected. [snip] The text list entries each have an embedded parameter field.
[snip] The field links to a DB that gets its values loaded dynamically depending on what model is running. [snip] This is what is displayed prior to selecting entry 2 or 3.
