Tagprefix + VBScript + ADO

I used a VBScript to connect to a SQL server, get data and display them on a WinCC picture. This script works fine. On that picture, i display a view with TagPrefix and a button. This button calls the same VBScript functions but i get the following error : [code] ============Erreur d'exécution Microsoft VBScript============ Application : PDLRT Picture : Planning_Action.pdl_Events Function : Sub GetPlanning( Byval NumFour, Byval objConnection) Line : 8 Error : Variable non définie: 'adOpenDynamic' ============Erreur d'exécution Microsoft VBScript============ [/code] I would like to understand why this function works in the main picture and not in the TagPrefixed view? stplanken Silver Member Joined: 3/4/2006 Last visit: 9/26/2023 Posts: 73 Rating: (3)	WinCC scripts use VBscript, not VBA and it has no knowledge of many VBA constants, hence the error message you posted. You need to declare adOpenDynamic by using something like "CONST AD_OPEN_DYNAMIC = 2".

Ssarak Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Thanks for help. I tried to declare the constant and it works. But i doesn't understand why it works in main view and not in a view with a TagPrefix.

But I don't know why it wold work in one location and not the other. I would expect it to fail in both locations. Unless a constant called "adOpenDynamic" was declared picture-wide in one picture and not the other. You could click "show declaration area" in the VBscript editor in the picture editor to reveal the declarations in the picture.

You say to look at picture declarations but i can't use that in VBScript editor (i saw that only in VBA editor but i did use it). And i would expect that its works in both location without specific declarations ;) but finally you give me the good tip to make it worked so thanks again :)

Once you are in the graphics editor and you have the VB Script editor open for an object, look at the top left of the button bar of the editor box, left of the "print" and "print preview" buttons. You will see two buttons (with two and 5 small lines). The one on the left is greayed-out by default and the one on the right will reveal the declaration area. You could use this area to declare constants that you can use in all objects of the picture.
