TCON communication for cp 343-1

7gallon Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have a problem with TCON (FB65) establishing connection. My equipment is cpu315 PN/DP and cp 343-1. TCON is configured to connect PC via cp 343-1 and I receive connection status 80b7. If I change configuration for TCON to connect via CPU, it works fine. My changes are: con_par.local_device_id (0<->2) and con_par.next_staddr (0<->4). What am I missing?

smiffy Platinum Expert Joined: 1/17/2007 Last visit: 3/10/2025 Posts: 1557 Rating: (540)	There is something wrong with you TCON_PAR parameter data; block_length, local_tsap_id_len, rem_subnet_id_len, rem_staddr_len, rem_tsap_id_len or next_staddr_len is incorrect. Can you post your TCON_PAR parameter data for me to look over? My initial guess is to change next_staddr_len to 1 (I expect it is currently 0 as it is not used when using CPU port).

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 3/18/2025 Posts: 3042 Rating: (1061)	Hello 7gallon you are not missing anything, the "problem" is that open communications via T-Blocks are NOT supported via a CP343-1 (see also What differences are there between the Industrial Ethernet CPs of SIMATIC S7-300? on what connections are possible). If you want to use the CP343-1 for the comms you willneed toconfigure the connection the good old fashion way inNetpro. I hope this helps
