Hi all,

I made a general FB (FB_Manage_Communication):

1. To be used several times
2. Inside this FB there is a TCON function
3. As an in/out for the FB created TCON_Connection
4. Created a DB to place all the communication parameters, where have created TCON_Connection_A1 (used as input to FB_Manage_Communication)
5. TCON_Connection_A1 is an exact copy of automatic DB created when configuring TCON directly on the block

If I run the program as it is described above (and shown in attached file as TCON connect parameters defined outside TCON block), TCON doesn´t work.

If I instead configure TCON directly on the block (creating an automatic PLC_2_Connection_DB, and shown in attached file as TCON configuration directly on TCON block), TCON works.

Can anyone explain why?

The error code I get is:

809A -The structure at the CONNECT parameter is not supported on an integrated interface or the length is invalid or an incorrect "InterfaceID" is specified in the connection description (SDT)

But what is making it difficult to understand is that I have exactly the same structure in connect input of TCON block (as can be seen in document attached earlier). I copied the automatic created DB (when connect is defined in TCON block) and paste it to another DB. The values are also the same (as can be seen in document attached earlier).

The TCON function works if the configuration is made directly in the block, and it doesn´t work if the parameters are defined in an external DB.

If you look into the document I sent earlier I believe it is easier to understand what I am trying to say in text.

I will construct a DB with the same datatype for each element. Instead of copying it. I believe this is your suggestion.

I have created a PLC data type with the connection parameters defined in Connection parameters with structure according to TCON_IP_v4. I have created one by one.

For each datatype, I have defined the exact same values as it was defined when the connection was working.

I have try to open the communication and still doesn´t work. Have the same error as before.

Any other tips?

Did you have the chance of looking to the attachment of my first post? I believe it is very clear of want I intend to do.

Currently, and for test purpose, I am only using 2 S7 1500.

I want to communicate among them by UDP.

If I make the TCON configuration directly on the TCON block, creating an automatic DB, the communication is possible.

If I try to create an external DB, withConnection parameters with structure according to TCON_IP_v4, as defined in help system, the communication is not possible.

I assume that the information provided in the automatic created DB should be the same as the information stored in the external created DB, or?

So the ID, remote IP address, Local/remote port, connection type and interfaceID should be the same, isn´t it?

I am probably missing something here…
