I have come across this entry:- http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/28970909 This would suggest that the problem, have been identified and fixed at version V2.7 of the firmware. However, I have V2.7.3 of the firmware (shown by opening the CP up on;ine and displaying diagnostics) and it still seems to be exhibiting the same behaviour. However the firmware is shown as V2.5 in the hardware config. What is going on? |

My CP firmware is up to date (well at least I think it is). It is V2.7.3. The V2.5 I refer to is the version of the CP shown in my hardware catalogue. I don't think the V2.5 thing will change how the V2.7.3 firmware works. I have downloaded the latest hardware updates but the catalogue still does not have any CP's later than V2.5. Here is the catalogue I downloaded (I also tried using the direct internet connection as well, but that didn't work either). Hardware support pack
The keep alives are sent by the CP (server) and answered correctly by the PC (client) when the connection is open. The problem is not that the connection closes. It is quite the opposite. I am deliberately closing the connection from the client end. The problem is that the CP appears to do all the correct actions when the connection is closed (i.e. sending the correct close packets and ceasing the sending out of keepalives). However, the connection is still open in NetPro and as such when I try to open the connection again, it fails. Even pulling the cable out has no effect - the CP still shows the connection as "Established". It is exhibiting exactly the same problem as they claim to have fixed in V2.7 of the firmware. Most strange. |
