TCP communication using CP343-1 on IM361

kapilkk Posts: 17 Rating: (1)	Hi, I have 840D NC servo package.I have connected a IM361 with CP343-1-EX30. I wish to communicate to external device using TCP.The size of data to be received from the external device is same all the time. I have read about configuringCommunication for CP343. Butall of the cases are having CP343 mounted in a PLC rack slot. 1. Can I use the same type of configuration for CP343 mounted on IM363? 2. Will the AGSEND and AGRECV blocks sufficient for me to send/receive data? 3. AGSEND and AGRECV documentation says it transfers data to communicator process for send/receive but how the Processessor actually sends/receives data or somthing is to be written/configured for the CP? And standard functions AG-Send and AG-Recv are the ones you will use to transfer blocks with the CP. As far as the CPU connecting wth the correct CP, have a look at the following FAQ (it also contains a sample program that you can use as a base for your own blocks): http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/17853532 Pay special attention to the parameters ID and LADDR, this is how NetPro and Step 7 ensure that you are using the right CP and the right connection. These parameter values are generated when you use NetPro to establish a connection, and are used as input parameters to AG-Send and AG-Recv. See the sample program for more details. kapilkk Posts: 17 Rating: (1)	Hi, Thanks for your reply. I could perform the setup and configuration as per instructions on the given link. I was able to establish communication with the external device successfully and could send the data from the external device to PLC DB through CP343. I have checked at very basic levels however surely the basics are clear now. Regards, Kapil.
