TCP connection between cpu 314C-2 DP with CP 343-1 Advanced and cpu 314C-2 DP with CP 343-1 Lean

Flux00 Posts: 11 Rating: (1)	Dear J_Bell, I am using S7 5.3 + SP3 (Student Edition 2004). I do not know what PCS7 means. If i use a one way S7 connection from Advanced to Lean how would i know the Lean's DP's ID? I will only know the local ID which is the one of Advanced's, right? Here is my project. J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Theodore, I have to admit I have no clue. I have STEP 7 V 5.4 SP 3 running on my machine here and I have opened your Project. As I tried to create a TCP or ISO on TCP Connection, which should be possible with this configuration, I received the same error. I had to adjust the Language of Windows for this a bit... As I know with a language neutral or English version of Windows I never had a Problem. Have you ever tried to get the System language set to English? To figure out what is going on in hereI asked some colleagues of mine that are much more familiar to the NCM Software to check and to find out what is wrong in here. I have not tried to change the system language as i am working at a laboratory of my school and i have not the access rights to do that. The next step i am going to do is to re-create the project and try again. But if i can do that with S7 connection there is no big reason for you to spend more time on that. About the ID i asked. PUT/GET functions require an ID of the PLC you want to access,right? This ID is configured at Netpro with the connection, right? If the S7 connection is one way i will have only the Local ID which means i will not have the ID of the PLC i want to access, right? Am i wrong? How can i know or give the ID of the PLC i want to access? Best Regards, Theodore

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Theodore, the ID I tried to show you shows the local ID in the requesting PLC. This means it identifies the Connection in the PLC the Connection is configured in. So if you call the Function you can do that only in the PLC with the Advanced CP, as mentioned already. To identify the Connection the Function only needs this ID, everything else is handled within the Connection between the PLC and the CP. On the side where the CP 343-1 Lean is located at you do not need any additional function... this is all done by the OS on the CPU. Best regards J_Bell
