Hello all,

I'm using the program provided by Siemens:

TCP File Server for S7 Controller

but can't get the windows application working. It's not displaying the local network adapter IP or port. I've allowed the program in the windows firewall and even turned the firewall off. I'm using windows 7 64 bit.

I've set an IP adress in the same range of my PLC (S7-1511-1PN) and tried sending a file from the PLC using the set adress. I can ping the PLC and PC from another PC so the network connection itself appears to be ok.

Does anyone have experience with the software and know what i'm missing?

Allright, so somehow the PLC wasn't loading the correct IP  adress in the connection parameters. 
Now that the PLC has the right adress loaded, the file server is also displaying the computers IP adress, i don't quite understand why it has to have a connection with the PLC first before displaying its own IP adress.

I have tried the TCP File Server PLC program and it works. But...there are some known problems like handshaking between plc and pc in case of wrong data.

But in normal use, it works.

Please ignore the Address-Views in Server (like "local network adapter"). It does not work really well.

Important are the following points:

• Enter a local port in server GUI. This is the "remote port" in PLC. Default the port is set to 2000.
• The plc program comes with this entry is old and use an old TCON and TCON parameter. Newer PLCs (FW2.0 and higher) needs the new TCON_IP_V4.
  You can change it in the program
• the server GUI includes a local TCP Client for checking server without a plc "Add client". With this integrated client you can check, of server works well.

But...the tcp file server and the plc program is updated at the moment and will be in SIOS soon. So...either you wait till the new version comes or...try to change TCON.
