sam_david Posts: 31 Rating: (0)	Hi 1- Is it possible to set S7-300 , ET200 or IE/PB Link on the TERMINAL BUS ( INDUSTRIAL ETHERNET) of PCS 7 ? 2- Is it possible to set CLIENT work station on the PLANT BUS (INDUSTRIAL ETHERNET) ? 3- Is it possible to use the Gigabit interface of CP 443-1 Advanced to create 1000 Mbit/s communication speed with the server of PCS 7 ? Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello sam_david, PCS7 shall use the Plant Bus for industrial communication to separate the networks. If you plan a mixed Network it is better to connect both networks and secure the network with switching possibilities and using VLAN or subentting features. It is possible to use the PCS7 PC atthe gigabit interface, but there is not realy a need for a gigabit speed, because S7 Communication is not using high communcation load. Also the response times are not realy faster, because the most time will be use from protocol stack. regards Rated X

sam_david Posts: 31 Rating: (0)	Hi Rated X Actually we have remote workstation (client ) about 20 KMfar from the server (main control room) . and the fiber optic cableconnected on Terminal bus for this workstation. We wont to add digital I/O (ET200) or S7-300 onthe same remote site but there is no other fiber optic cable For plant bus. Please would you advice me ... I could not find any application In PCS-7 to meet my requirement Best Regards

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hi sam_david, you would have to connect the plant bus to the terminal bus as the communication will only be possible over plat bus. It would be easier to use a router to separate the two buses. And you will have to use S7 protocol to communicate as PROFIBUS won't work. Therefor you need a S7 capable CPU like ET200S CPU or a S7-300. Regards, Rated X
