Testing S7-1500 Program using Diff Int Values

Hi,

I am testing my program using TIA v13 for S7-1500 and I have an Integer Input to one of my FBs. I want to be able to enter different numbers and see the corresponding result. But I can't do that unless I download (the software only changes) into my Input parameter. Any suggestions ???

Is there any way that I can change the input integer value without downloading while staying online with the CPU ?

• Be sure that the input parameter to the FB is not written in your program
  
  
• Make a watch table and insert all input parameters that you want to monitor and modify.For that you can try symbolic representation like "name of DB"."Name of element".
  
  
  
• Be online, monitor all variables , then write a "modify value" and use modify.

Thanks for the help Hamid. It definitely makes more sense to be able to modify values of parameters that are part of data section (e.g, of a data block) and not be able to do that inside a program section / execution area of a CPU (e.g., inside an FB).

Apart from this, I would be really thankful if you can provide some document that explains different memory areas inside the CPU S7-1500 and the access schemes to read / write those memory areas. I am also looking for a guide or a beginners handbook for SCL and STL. I am a software engineer and I think I can pickup the conepts fairly easy while programming in the Ladder at the same time.

For S7-1500, my first suggestion would be purchasing "Automating with SIMATIC S7-1500 " in both English and German versions.Despite the fact that it is really Bulky , but it is great reference for this topic.It covers both hardware and software plus huge section allocated for programming tips in all applicable languages.In cases that information is brief, please search the online support website for product or topic and you will find more discussions or helps via manuals,forum,FAQs, webcasts and all other support materials.
