Hi Nits, The main feature you lose when you use DataMonitorWeb instead of WebNavigator, at least for me, is the ability to command... with WebNavigator you can command stuff... in most plants remote command is critical and highly non-adviseable, but you may need commands, even if they're not for equipments in the field. But WebNavigator is more expensive than DataMonitorWeb... Any access to WinCC's database by any third party software requires a license... technically you can make it work, but you'll breach the license agreement, so it's illegal. With options such as ConnectivityPack or IndustrialDataBridge you can get this data... And probably with less engineering effort. I think ConnectivityPack is a little cheaper, but IDB is usually requires some less engineering... Both options are more flexible than the PM OPEN EXPORT add-on, since they allow for more features... but if you don't need those features there's no difference! I've never used this add-on, but supposedly it helps send data to a "storage media"... according to the other post it also exports to excel.... I'd check this with Siemens first, but if it does work it may be quite a cheap option! Take a look at the online catalog, where you'll find info on all the WinCC options... in the same catalog you can see the PM OPEN EXPORT add-on... You can also see more info on PM OPEN EXPORT on this link. Best regards, Danielle |

A colleague of mine prepared this training document for our group.Although it is based on WinCC V6.0, it is a good overview of the options with pro's and con's. I hope you find it usefull. Bill AttachmentWinCC_Data_Options.pdf (208 Downloads) |
