The block '..' cannot be opened because it was created with TIA portal V10.5

Roy Haans Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi everybody, For my internship I have to make a network of machines linked together and controlled by one Server PC. The idea is that this Server PC dataloggs, displays the state the machines are in and have the possibility for us to program the PLC's and HMI's with TIA Portal V11. All machines have S7-1200 PLC's and KTP400 Basic Mono HMI's. But here is the problem: all PLC program's(Projects) of the machines are made by a other company who made it in TIA Portal V10.5 and the software we have here is TIA Portal V11. We also don't have the projects in our database so I would like to get the data out of the CPU so I could save the project to a V11 project, adjust the program and just load it in the CPU again. But everytime I want to open the Program blocks it shows the pop up: 'The block '..' cannot be opened because it was created with TIA portal V10.5' as you can see in the attached file. In the link there's a saved Project on the PC which is converted to V11. I don't have the original data of the projects so I have to load them out of the PLC's. So I would like to know how I could load the program's out of the PLC's without having to use TIA portal V10.5. Greetings, Roy

Greetings, Roy Roy, you could try contacting a local Siemens applications engineer via your local Siemens dealer/rep to see if they have V10.5 and could upload from the plc, and then you could open in V11 and have a copy of the logic. What you will not have is the hardware configuration. You will have to hope it is mostly if not all the default settings.
