The encoder interface in CU310 DP

Dave Posts: 271 Rating: (29)	Hello Tressa, CU310 Control Units are designed to control a single motor. In your case you will have a single Profibus interface and a TTL/HTL encoder evaluation. The encoder probably should be mounted in such a way that it is a 1:1 relationship with the motor shaft with little or no elasticity or backlash. STARTER will allow you to configure the encoder at commissioning time. Hope this helps...

Let us say that the motor encoder is drive cliq enabled and the feedback is connected to X100 on the CU. Now i have say a seperate machine encoder(HTL Incremental encoder). Can i connect it to the X23 port and use it for machine speed f/b??
