The water level device gives a signal of 4-20mA that can be transmitted to a distance of 500 meters without losing mA.

In either case, the remedies for increasing the distance of a 4-20mA signal are: - increase the loop power supply voltage - increase the cross sectional size of the copper wiring to reduce the voltage drop across the conductors - use a powered 4-20mA signal isolator/repeater module (4-20mA in-4-20mA out) that can drive more loop resistance than the existing device. It is usually not practical to reduce the receiver's analog input resistance.
