Dear fish, Please have a look at this link: What should you watch out for when using the RS485 repeater in PROFIBUS and MPI bus systems? Here youwill find the maximum line length of a segment, when using Profibus. It depends on Profibus speed. When you want to use MPI, there is a difference between Non-isolated ports and isolated ports. So it depends on the used CPU. When you can change MPI port into an Profibus port it is an isolated interface (cable length might be 1000 mtr.(without repeater)) But when you can not change MPI port into Profibus port it is a non-isolated interface (cable length 50 mtr.(without repeater)) Best regards, Wizard |
