amro Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	Dear all, in my system i am using the anlogue card 6ES7331-7KF02-0AB0. this card work with thermocouples types N,E,J,K,L. and i need to connect thermo couoles type T with this card, i checked on siemens manuals i found that the T type range fom -270 to 400, and E type range from -270 to 1000 , so can i select the E type on the hardware configuration insteade of the T type and change the range on the scaling function.

The idea is you could sellect any type of TC and then in software to "adjust" the limits. But always you will have some errors in measurments. My suggestion is if there isn't possible to read directly TC value, use a external "converter" which will helps to read the TC value like a "current (0/4-20mA)" or "voltage (0-10V)" analog value. gre_m Posts: 947 Rating: (45)	Hi Thermocouples are connected by special cables. they are very hard and inconvenient to install. Therefore, I agree with with Umencho on using a converter. Betterto the current 4 .. 20mA.

Prats Posts: 272 Rating: (4)	Hi, The TC are devices with a non linear output, so really we cannot predict the right output, as already suggested it would be better to install a transmitter in the head of the sensor. It will solve two purposes 1) The signal attenuation will be minimised. 2) The coldjunction compensation will automatically provided in the transmitter.

Best Regards Hello Amro, Please find here in(sec.6.7)ofS7-300 Module dataall wiring examples of 6ES7 331-7KF02-0AB0 module. Please do not forget to set the black squares in the side of the module to its correct position according to the AI type. And take into consideration that the AI module is 8 channels grouped in 4 groups. And have a look on the attached screen shot of the module.Set the measuring type and range in HW config. as explained in the picture. Hope this helps. Attachment TC.JPG (115 Downloads)
