TIA CRASH

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 12/4/2023 Posts: 13970 Rating: (2279)	I had that exact problem with TIA Portal V11 SP1 Update 2. Somehow TIA Portal corrupted my project. Here's what I did to correct the problem....... Created a new BLANK project. Created the hardware identical to the hardware used in the project, taking care to match firmware revisions and hardware / ip address settings. Copied all OBs/FBs/FCs/DBs/System Resources/PLC Tags to the new project. Compiled Hardware. (Save project at this step and after each new step below, just so you do not lose work in case Portal crashes) Compiled FBs, then FCs, then compile Main OB. If all goes well with no errors, perform the compile all function. If there are no compilation errors, your new project should exactly match your old project as loaded into the PLC. Rename the folder containing your old project to "MyProjectName".Corrupted.yyyymmdd so you know what's in the folder without losing it. Save your newly created project to the same name you used when you loaded into the PLC. Open that project and go online. It worked every time. It goes fairly quickly, much more quickly than trying to fix the original project. In a matter of 10-15 minutes you're back online with an uncorrupted project. If you have finalized your project, make a backup so you can resort to that without worrying about it crashing and getting corrupted again and having do this process yet again.
