TIA portal 13

xbox360 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	i need to upload a project made in tia portal v11 from a cpu 1200 to pg that has tia portal v13 is there a compatibilty project 11 to 13, i only found 11 to 12 and 12 to 13. thanks

Please revise this link: Which license do you need to upgrade from STEP 7 version V5.x, V11 or V12 to the TIA Portal V13? Hope this helps.

xbox360 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	if the project already on the pg i can upgrade it no problems with it but the project already configured in v11 is in the s7-1200 and i want to upload to pg using v13, now when i do the upload i get a fault about compatibilty between v11 and v13. i found on this site a solution for uploading a project in v11 using tia v12 and v12 using v13 but couldnt find one for uploading a project in v11 using tia v13.

I had a similar problem recently and contacted Siemens Support via Support Request. V13 does not have any compatibility mode like V12 did for V11 projects. Sigh. I do not know how I was thinking V13 could open V11 and V12 and V13 and act as a native environment for the version it was working within. This would be a huge benefit to end-users as the upgrade path would leave working and installed and accepted systems/projects in the portal version currently being supported by customers/clients. Sadly, V13 only works with V13. It can upgrade a V12 to a V13 project, and lose compatibility with V12. So, if you work with others, everyone would need to upgrade to V13 or no work could be shared between projects and all projects would likely need to be upgraded to V13. However, as many have said, you can use V12 SP1 in compatible mode on V11 projects and natively for V12 projects, and V12 can coexist with V13. Hope this helps. The V13 license [supposedly]will also work for V12 on the same computer. :)
