TIA portal restart

RPM Posts: 19 Rating: (0)	Hi! My problem: TIA portal crashes when i try to download to HMI. I needed to update my Wincc program and then TIA crashed. Never had this problem before. I've updated this program many times, but now i cant do it. Sometimes i receive popup message that S7EpaSRV.exe cannot be found, but i have this file and he is running in Process. If not, upgrade it (Updates for STEP 7 V11 SP2 and WinCC V11 SP2) and try again. If this doesn't help - please do not invent bycicle and one a support request casehere

RPM Posts: 19 Rating: (0)	Yeah my TIA totally crashed after installing UPD5. I can neither start/repair/uninstall or install TIA portal. So right now im uploading iagnostic files to Siemens support Germany. I hope they can solve it, otherwise i have to start from scratch and install all software again :(. No more slacking with Windows backup.

It might be a bug in TIA, so you will help thousands of users in the future by uploading diagnostics to Siemens. I'm sure they will solve the problem.

TY I had a problem where I imported the portal HMI project from an existing WinCC Flex hmi project that caused portal to crash. I sent it through support request who eventually forwarded to Germany HQ for diagnosis. They confirmed the problem and stated it would be corrected in V12 (sometime in 2013). In my case, I managed a workaround by creating a brand new HMI in my project, configuring it identically and copying all the screens, etc. from the one causing problems to the new one. It magically worked and allowed me to download and configure as needed.

However, if you do create a new hmi and copy everything over, and you can add that button and download without crashing, you will think I am a magician! I have been a magician many times by using this work-around all the way back to V10.5. Project would crash for no apparent reason, yet if I delete and add back some block, it would stop crashing. I have had corrupted projects that simply creating a new copy from scratch corrected things.

RPM Posts: 19 Rating: (0)	I have to reinstall windows first . Serveral programs that are not approved for Windows 7 SP1 are/were installed on your PG/PC. A small list: - MicroWin - S7-PLCSIM - S7-PCT - S7-GRAPH - S7-SCL STEP 7 and the combination of Step7 V5.5 (without SP) in combination with WinCC flexible Version 2008 SP3 The list of allowed combinations can be found here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/18734363 I recommend you to reset your PG to a restore point or to format the hard disk. The incompatible software packages have damaged your TIA Portal installation in way that is not repairable.
