TIA portal V11 SP2 to V13

rQx Bronze Member Joined: 12/9/2010 Last visit: 1/29/2025 Posts: 164 Rating: (5)	Hi! I have had my TIA Portal V11 SP2 update 5 on a VM with XP. This is a single license that I can't transfer. I bought a upgrade to V13, and as I couldn't install my V11 SP1 (this is my DVD version) on my new 64bit machine I had to install the V13 directly. Now I have a V13 upgrade license on a USB stick and a single license on my VM. How the hell do I upgrade it? I tried transfer my new V13 license to ALM and upgrade it but, not suprisingly, it didn't work. How do I upgrade it?

Cicero Gold Member Joined: 10/10/2005 Last visit: 1/29/2025 Posts: 1940 Rating: (137)	Hello, the problem is, that you have installed the STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V11 or V12 on your PC and so after you can make the upgrade from V11 or V12 to STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V13. Otherwise you need the floating license of V13, if you have not installed the V11 or V12 on your PC. See the follow informations in the FAQ: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/57775228 You have STEP 7 Professional V11 or V12 installed on your computer and you want to upgrade to STEP 7 Professional V13. Here you need the upgrade with the floating license (article number: 6ES7822-1AA03-0YE5). Note It is not possible to use this upgrade to upgrade from STEP 7 Professional 2010. Problem was that the ALM didn't give me a "license upgrade completed". The whole time I didn't know why the new licensekey wasn't upgrading even though I clicked the correct buttons. Turns out that it did upgrade without me noticing. I figured it out when I read all the information of my older key and the license number was gone :)
