TIA Portal v13 Online call FB/FC format still wrong

But in TIA Portal v13 and lower, when you made a call inside a FB/FC off another FB/FC with IN's, OUT's and INOUT's, the online format's are still wrong, making it harder to diagnose while programming. For example, when you created a call with a "real" as IN, it shows online in hexadecimal, not easy to read if you are debugging the program. Thought this would be adressed in version 13 but not. So maybe it's me... Attached a screenshot from a FC call. The IN "iGew" is set a "real". Just as the "iRamp" and "iqOut". The stats are showed wrong, the temps correct. Weird? You can choise the display format and change example from hex to DEC. During the online connection you can watch the values in all status which refers to your program. With best regards Cicero

I am trying to understand what you are saying. Regardless of the answers to my questions, you should report this via Support Requestand send your project so they can see what you see. I think you are saying _sometimes_ the display format follows correctly with the datatype and sometimes it does not. In your case, you have an INOUT interface tag defined of type real and it shows up and DWORD when you view it online. Clearly that is not the expected and desired default behavior. Please post back what you get from Siemens. Hopefully they can remedy in the first service pack.

It should say everything and is very simple. FC51 is called inside an FB. In that FB there are "STATS" and "TEMPS" declared. As you can see on the screenshot the "TEMPS" are showed as a real, which is correct. But the "STATS" are showed as a hexadecimal number, which is wrong. It's also when calling from a datablock. Do the test yourself, you'll see. It's with a S7-315 and in STL. PS: Maybe I'll make a service request. I'm just wondering if it is the same with others.

I am strictly an S7-1200 end-user with the occasional slap in a vendor memory card for 300's. Portal has different behavior with different plc's and firmware revisions. if your plc firmware can be updated, maybe could somehow alerts portal the datatype in a different way and gets properly displayed. In your screenshot, some data monitoring looked correct and some looked incorrect. I saw one real and one DWORD. Without seeing your data and how you are sending it to the FBs, it is difficult to guess what is happening with the 300 PLC. Maybe you could use an intermediate tag of real datatype to feed your FB INOUTs using internal MDxx rather than a DBn.DBWx? I know in the s7-300 world, it is the opposite internal storage compared to the 1200/1500's, and it is more efficient to configure DBs as NOT OPTIMIZED or compatability with 300/400s. Maybe it has something to do with that. Regardless, you should report it. Otherwiseit is like not voting and complaining about the outcome.
