TIA portal v13

Abdel-Qader Silver Member Joined: 1/5/2013 Last visit: 11/22/2024 Posts: 283 Rating: (16)	Hello, 1- do the TIA portal v12 (SIMATIC STEP 7 PROFESSIONAL V12 ENGINEERING-SW 6ES7822-1AA02-0YA5) supports new CPUs 1200 with firmware 4.0 like 6ES7215-1AG40-0XB0? 2- if point 1 invalid, i must upgrade it to v13, is it right? 3- do the S7-1200 with firmware 3.0 are supported under v13? 4- if we upgrade to v13, can i read projects done before at v12 with CPU 1200 firmware 3.0? 5- Can we upgrade firmware from v3.0 to v4.0 with CPU 6ES7214-1AG31-0XB0? 6- if i use CPU 1200 with firmware 4.0 do i need also tp upgrade to v13 to SIMATIC WINCC ADVANCED V12 ENGINEERING-SW 6AV2102-0AA02-0AA5 or it is not necessary? 7-Do CP 1242-7 (6GK7242-7KX30-0XE0), and COMMUNICATION BOARD CB 1241, RS485, SCREW CONNECTOR SUPPORTS MESSAGE BASED FREEPORT (6ES7241-1CH30-1XB0)can be used with CPU 1200 with firmware 4.0? thanks

No, see the link below: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/88779346 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. Yes 5. Apparently, the firmware is valid for all S7-1200 CPU but be carefull because order number is different: for example they have 6ES7214-1AG31-0XB0 for V3.0 and 6ES7214-1AG40-0XB0 for V4.0. So I don't think it's possible to "upgrade the firmware" Perhaps somebody else can confirm that. 6. I don't know if it is related to WinCC but obviously it is recommended 7.
