TIA Portal V14 Motion Control Datablock Encoder

User prepared data block can be declare as encoder connection for Technology object (e.g. Positioning Axes)

But when I follow procedure for create db, PD_TELx or any PD_TEL does not show in PLC data types. I declare PD_TELx with manually but when I push select button on data block selection screen in Axis configuration page TIA Portal crashed every time.

How can I link my encoder to Axes (Analog Input encoder)?

How can I link my encoder to Axes (Analog Input encoder)?

• make a new DB, (unoptimized!) and enter a variable, type as "data type"  "PD_TEL3" (if you use Telegram 3)
• compile the DB
• Now you should be able to select the DB in the TO configuration

If the TIAP still crashes the project database may be damaged. Close and reopen TIA Portal and beginn with a new project.

in my project PD_TEL3 not declared as PLC datatypes. Are you declare manually PD_TEL3?

Yes, you must type it in manually when defining the DB. After this a few PLC-DataTypes are in the project.

And don't forget to compile the DB before configuring the TO.

I add my project. You will have to fill the encoder and drive status in the "Input" section of the DB in the OB PreServo. And use the "output" section of the DB in the OB PostServo.
