TIA portal/Wincc advice advice

We have recently purchased a new programming laptop with step7 V5.6 to support our Siemesn CPUs, we are unable to install Protool on this due to software incompatibility (Windows 10) We would like to modernise our OP27 HMIs to KP700s to remove obsolescence. My question is, would 6AV2101-0AA05-0AA5 (Simatic Wincc Comfort TIA portal V15.6) install on the same machine alongside step7 5.6 to enable us to develop our new HMIs? Would we require any other software? I have been told that I need a full installation of TIA portal, not just this part number Thank you in advance

You have two choices: 1. use Step7 V5.6 for PLC, and TIA for the HMI -> Device Proxy 2. migrate the complete project from Step7 V5.6 to TIA Portal -> check if this is possible with you used HW Do you would recreate the HMI from stratch? If not , and you would use the old OP27 project then you need a few more steps: migrate the Protool Project to WinCC flexible 2008 (here you can use only up to 2008 SP2 for Migration) then change the OP27 in WinCCflexible to a newer HMI Panel then migrate this project to TIA WinCC V14 (this is must because the older Panels from WinCCflex not supported in TIA V15.1) change the Panel type in WinCC V14 to the KP700 open this project in TIA V15.1 and Update the project/HMI Regards Christoph

I plan to write the program from scratch using the Protool program as a reference, the current set up is fairly terrible in terms of user friendliness. I will probably ditch the keypad and use a full touch screen model. Thanks again Richard
