TIA PORTAL

Hi Guys,

I am having nearly 10 HMI in my Project.

I will have all the Stations in one single Project with different connections.

I want only one active connection at a time. I will select which one to be active.

Is it possible to do, if possible can anyone explain me.

Using TIA Portal Advanced V11 SP2 Upt2 with STEP 7 V5.5

I too saw the option Change Connection.

I tried the same and the Connection is Changing.

But my fear is, will other connections tags will be updating or not.?

If others are still updating, it might result in slowness of the HMI.

I dont want this to happen.

I just want to clear this one alone. since there are 70 tags for 10 connections, so a total of 700 tags totally.

Can you help me again.

This event will let you change IP address of the active connection to different (configured IP) connection.

For example, you have single HMI and two PLCs (with different IP addresses but running exactly same software). You have define one PLC connection (in the WinnCC connections) to specific PLC (say PLC#1 with IP 192.168.1.10). When youi start HMI and both PLCs, HMI will establish connection to PLC#1. When you activate ChangeConnection event then it will switch connection to PLC#2 (e.g IP 192.168.1.20). All PLC tags and alarms will be now opolled from PLC#2.

This connection will be reset to original (PL#1) when power is cycled or HMI application is restarted.

If you want it to stay permanent then you would have to do some scripting (save file with last IP address).

However, be carefull. This event used to work with S7-1200 connection up to V11 version of the HMI firmware (I've tested with MPs and TP Comforts). Since V12 firmware was released this event doesn't work any longer. I've open service request with Siemens regarding this issue but no confirmation from them wheter this is a bug or feature ommited for a reason.

If you PLCs are 300 or 400 series then this shouldn't have be an issue.
