TIA V11 project size

MysticEyes Advanced Member Joined: 2/2/2010 Last visit: 8/22/2024 Posts: 5 Rating: (1)	Hello, I'm working on a project in TIA Portal V11 SP2 Update 2 but I noticed that the project size is growing and growing after a few weeks of work. The project is at the moment 2.65GB. It is the PEData.plf file, that is found in the system folder of the project, that is getting big. Is this normal and is there a way to reorganize a project like in V5.5?

I have lets say medium size project with S7-314C-2DP and with TP900 with lots of screens, but this file is only 13 MB only ! Again, it may be dependant on your project and what you're trying to do. Try to fully rebuild your project and see what's happening. If this won't help I could only suggest to ask for Siemens support as this is internal things to TIA.

Open by your project the folder and delete the content in the "TMP"-folder. Have you converted your project from STEP 7 V10.5 to V11? In this case open your project folder and navigate to "System > Backup". The backup needs a lot of size of your memory. I recommend to delete the older backup. With best regards Cicero

JnoPatof Posts: 3 Rating: (1)	Hello MysticEyes Do you have Tag logging in your project? Itmay explain why your project folder keep growing. Eveninsimulation of WinCC, datas is stored. From my observations, Alarm logging and Tag Loggingdatas are stored in the project folder under something like <your project path>\IM\HMI\{11866113-2129}\D\HMI_6FM7\ArchiveManager\... I delete those filesbefore archivinga project. Once deleted, you can't put it back: its a new logs start. Regards

I had also too big projects.Now no. If you have also great big project listen to me. 1- Upgrade your Version to Tia Portal V12. 2-Open your V11 project at V12 3- Select project name from Project tree. 4-Than you must do archive that project from PROJECT Tab. 5-After Retrieve Archived project again and Vodo 6-Now you project is small. 7- ENJOY!!!!
