following the subject on TiA 17.

Anyone ever experienced to be prompted with password request at runtime start without having inserted one in the IDE? No way out, I do not know what is the password, nor downloading HMI again could solve.

It seems to me something is not filling properly the input boxes of the Transport Password. Any similar experience to anybody?

Nobody chose to have that password. Any pw you put in, it is always refused. No way to start Runtime.

 Yes, it is a project that has been running already.

After updating to TiA to upd5, with panel images release at the end of november 2022 the problem seem to arise..

 have you check that secure communication not activated on the PLC?

Situation solved by voluntarly inserting a password.

In one case TextBoxes started to blink and after download (TP1200) passord is prompted, inserted and never shown, as it is a ONE TIME PW.

In another case TexBoxes cleared themselves and after download password is not requested at all and runtime starts with no prompts.

I open a request for Siemens, they will shortly analize this case in Germany development center. Probably something not working perfectly with those transport password textboxes in the HMI settings.

Hope it'll help somebody.

ps: later on Siemens Germany sent a Patch for 17.0.0.5 for exactly this behaviour correction.

I had this exact issue with Tia Portal V18 and Comfort panel V17.0.0.5 after enabling Certificate manager in PLC. I was able to solve it by creating new self signed PLC communication certificate under Connection mechanisms in PLC properties. (TLS Server, EC, prime256v1, sha256)
