Dear experts,

I am currently wondering if it would be possible to load a recipe (that is, a batch of data records) external to the HMI. As per the topic title, I'm using panel KTP1200 Basic PN (6AV2 123-2MB03-0AX0, version 13.0.1.0) on TIAPortal with WinCC Basic V13 SP 1.

I would like to load the data records from an external CSV file. A 1214C DCDCDC PLC is also available, which itself is communicating with the PC where the file is saved. I could load the file indirectly through the PLC, if that is at all possible. As far as I could research, that cannot be done, though.

I have read the available documentation, including this document, but nothing seems to have the answer I'm looking for.

Hi,

I think that you can try by using a feature that is very useful in TIA Portal.

You can create a DB & set it's attribute to "Store only in Load Memory".

Then You can write to it by using Write_DBL & read from it using Read_DBL.

Also you can use Recipe Export & Recipe Import Functions.

This will create a csv file that can be downloaded using web browser & then after modifications can be uploaded back & then Imported to DB using Recipe Import Instructions.

Thanks for the answer, it really helped with the load/save of the recipes on the csv file. I am still not sure how to forward this information to the HMI, though, as the example application only deals with the PLC. Any ideas?

you can define a tag and a common DB in your HMI and PLC. then make your programm transfer the requierd data from the load memory in to the common DB in your PLC when you set this tag and then read your data in the HMI.

I did this in one project and I was using KTP 1200 Basic PN.

I had programmed one webpage in it from where I can check the recipe file.

I used to download the recipe file from PLC to computer, send it to the R&D and after receiving the recipes, I used to upload it back to plc. The webserver enabled me to maintain different recipes as I used to delete them and rename them.

I also had one User defined page from where I can monitor the recipe values & check if they are properly loaded or not...

All this was on a single page in HMI...

It really helped me cut the trouble in programming all manually and also I love the diagnostic feature that HMI webpage provides..

It is really useful in troubleshooting..
