I am trying to figure out how to set up access to the above HMI using VNC. I note on TIAV17 there was a setting i.e. Runtime Settings - Remote Access -  Smart Server

However Smart Server seems to have been removed in TIAV19. I note Web Client is still shown in the Remote Access list but there is no place for setting up VNC passwords?

Any advice much appreciated

Hi,

This is a limitation of the SIMATIC HMI MTP1000 Unified Basic Panel used, which does not support Smart Server. In the context of WinCC Unified, you must use a Unified Comfort Panel to have Smart Server available.

Hi Stefan, Thank you for the quick reply. Does that mean VNC is not possible for the 6AV2123-3KB32-0AW0. I was told when I purchased it that VNC was possible.

I note that Web Client is available on TIAV19 for this HMI. I assume if I enable Web Client on the HMI itself I should be able to login to the HMI using the IP prefixed with https to see the runtime?

Hi,

The Unified Basic panel does not contain any applications, so Smart Server, which will be the VNC-related application, is not supported. To be honest, to find this information in the technical data, you have to make a comparison between the Unified Basic and the Unified Comfort panel.

As far as I know, there are plans to support Smart Server on Unified Basic panels in the future, but I cannot give you any further details.
