time measurement

kutya Posts: 7 Rating: (1)	Hi everyone I'm new to PLC programming, and having a problem with measuring time intervals with CPU 312c. I thought to use the TIME_TCK function to mark the time, when sampling data, and afterwards to measure the time passed between two samples. BTW I'm using it for calculating derivates and integrals. The problem is that I have the times, but didn't find any functions that can operate with TIME data type.I've searched for some typecasting functions, but didn't find any.I'm trying to avoid writing my own data type conversion. Oh, I'm using Function Block Diagram, if it changes something. Hope someone will help:)

Thijs Posts: 121 Rating: (15)	The help function off SFC64 TIME_TCK reveals that the output off the funtion is ms in DINT format. The calculate the time between to SFC64 calls substract the old value from the new one and you have the time between to call in ms

If i don't forget to take the block with me, then i place it tomorrow on the forum. [:blush:]
